Amsterdam Rentals:
Amsterdam Vacation rentals mostly comprise apartments from the luxury end to the "let me out of here" type.
Anyone can use there spare room and call it an Apartment once it has the basic self-catering facilities. There are many such places in Amsterdam.
Vacation rental apartments in Amsterdam comprise anything from a studio to an entire canal house. Facilities differ greatly but you can expect a
clean apartment with kitchen (Shared or Private) with at least one or more bath and shower rooms with linen and towels provided.
Unlike hotels you do not have daily maid service coming banging at your door just as you just are thinking of taking a nap.
But if you do require daily, weekly or twice weekly mail service cleaning a number of apartment owners do offer this service, however
most charge extra for it. Typically bed linen and towels are changed once during a
seven night stay, but this is up to you the guest, if you need more towels or a change of linen just ask.
Most owners have a basic price for 2 to 4 guests staying and charge extra for each extra guest above this usually between 30-50 Euro per guest per night.
Different owners have different policies so always read carefully the rental policies before agreeing to the terms and conditions to find out what is
provided, how many people are allowed and what restrictions may apply such as "NO Smoking", cancellation fees, extra charges, etc.

Renting is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a good or property owned by another person or company.
The owner of the property may be referred to as the lessor and the party paying to use the property as the lessee or renter.
There is typically an implied, explicit, or written rental agreement or contract involved to specify the terms of the rental,
which are regulated and managed under contract law. Examples include:

- 3.1 Footnotes
Renting real estate (real property) for the purpose of housing tenure (where the lessee rents a residence to live in), parking space for a vehicle(s),
storage space, whole or portions of properties for business, agricultural, institutional, or government use, or other reasons.
When renting real estate, the person(s) or party who lives in or occupies the real estate is often called a tenant, paying rent to the owner
of the property, the leasor, often called a landlord (or landlady). The real estate rented may be all or part of almost any real estate, such as
an apartment, house, building, business office(s) or suite, land, farm, or merely an inside or outside space to park a vehicle, or store things
all under Real estate law. The rental agreement for real estate is often called a lease, and usually involves specific property rights in real property, as opposed to
chattels.
A lease is a legal document, but can be a verbal arrangement, which confers a right on one person (called a tenant or lessee) to possess property
belonging to another person (called a landlord or lessor) to the exclusion of the owner landlord. The relationship between the tenant and the
landlord is called a tenancy, and can be for a fixed or an indefinite period of time (called the term of the lease). The consideration for the
lease is called rent.
Under normal circumstances, an owner of property is at liberty to do what they want with their property, including destroy it or hand over
possession of the property to a tenant. However, if the owner has surrendered possession to another (ie the tenant) then any interference with
the quiet enjoyment of the property by the tenant in lawful possession is unlawful.
Similar principles apply to real property as well as to personal property, though the terminology would be different. Similar principles apply
to sub-leasing, that is the leasing by a tenant in possession to a sub-tenant. The right to sub-lease can be expressly prohibited by the main lease.
